Volunteer & Participation Opportunities

Volunteer Positions


Whether you are a college student, a researcher, an EMT, nurse, medical student, or a medical professional, there are opportunities to become a part of the HMS MEDscience program. 

Volunteer Eligibility Requirements:

  • Experience in biological sciences, healthcare, clinical practice OR education

  • Must have completed at least 1 semester of college. We do not accept high school student volunteers.

  • Available to commit to 2.5 hours per week for 12 weeks in the months of September 2026 - December 2026

Volunteering with MEDscience does NOT count as clinical hours or shadowing. 

OPEN VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

MEDscience Clinical Teaching/Simulation Volunteer

Act as a classroom assistant for the MEDscience program for high school students. Responsibilities may include: 

  • Aid in patient simulations based on human body systems

  • Support students as they learn clinical skills (e.g. intubation, suturing, I.V.s)

  • Act as a role model for students interested in healthcare or science

  • Act as a resource for student questions regarding education and career

  • Assist in classroom management 

  • Photograph students to highlight their work

Volunteer applications are OPEN on a rolling basis for the Fall 2026 semester. Applications will close on Monday, August 20th.
