Job Description
The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (with at least one year completed) or is a working professional with a demonstrated interest in healthcare, science, or education. We value a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as the ability to lead with organization, enthusiasm, and a willingness to support the growth of others.
Interns are expected to take initiative in their daily work — proactively identifying meaningful tasks during downtimes and contributing to the smooth running of the program. A forward-thinking mindset, creativity, teamwork, and a “no job is too small” attitude are essential.
The Intern Manager serves in a leadership role, ensuring interns are well-prepared, engaged, and supported throughout the program. Responsibilities include training and onboarding interns, providing ongoing guidance and feedback, overseeing accountability, and handling any disciplinary matters to maintain a positive and professional environment. The Intern Manager also coordinates daily activities, supervises interns as they lead team-building and assist with classroom and lab preparation, and acts as a point of contact for interns, students, and staff. Additionally, the Intern Manager will capture photos of cases, skills sessions, and team-building activities for use on social media and in promotional materials. As the role develops, there may be opportunities to take on teaching responsibilities and further contribute to students’ educational experiences.
This is a paid, full-time internship running for eleven weeks at the HMS MEDscience Simulation Lab, located in the Armenise building at Harvard Medical School. Interns must commit to all eleven weeks from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. If you would like more details about the position, please email elu_tatis@hms.harvard.edu.
